Justice Impact is a media platform for the criminal justice reform space — a podcast network, a magazine, a resource directory, and a professional network for the people who work in it.
It's being built in public, from scratch, starting now.
WHY IT EXISTS.
The resources exist. The connections don't.
Advocates, attorneys, nonprofit leaders, ministries, reentry specialists, investigators, consultants, and families who've learned more about the system than they ever wanted to know. The people in this field are extraordinary, and almost all of them are working in isolation from each other.
A family looking for help doesn't find a field. They find fragments — a nonprofit here, an attorney there, a program three counties over they'll never hear about.
There's no central platform bringing together the information, the resources, and the voices in service of the justice-impacted. That's what's being built here: Justice Impact Show, Justice Impact Magazine, Justice Impact Directory, Justice Impact Alliance, and Publishing + Merch.
WHO'S BUILDING IT.
JP Maroney
I'm JP Maroney. I've spent thirty-five years building media companies, and five years inside this world. The second number is the one that matters here — it's where the idea came from.
I'm building Justice Impact from scratch, in public, because I got tired of watching good people work alone. Building in public means the unfinished parts stay visible. I'd rather you watch it get made than be handed a polished promise.
Fair warning: it's going to get ugly up here before it smooths out.
