What they do
The Sentencing Project publishes reports and state-by-state data on incarceration in the United States and campaigns for sentencing reform, youth-justice reform, restoration of voting rights to people with felony convictions, and a reduction of racial disparities. It does not provide direct services itself, but in 2023 it launched the Second Look Network, a coalition of attorneys and mitigation specialists who represent incarcerated people seeking resentencing. Founded in 1986.
