Entrepreneurship and employment training for people in prison and after release, through regional chapters.
What they do
Defy Ventures teaches entrepreneurship, employment readiness and personal development to people in prison and after they come home, whom it calls Entrepreneurs in Training. The core course, CEO of Your New Life, runs inside facilities and in reentry; graduates can move on to a Business Accelerator to incorporate and launch a business, and an alumni association runs resume, interview and technology workshops. Programs are delivered through chapters in Northern and Southern California, Illinois, Pennsylvania, Utah, Washington and the New York tri-state area.
