Second Chance Services
Free mentorship, therapy referrals, financial coaching, job help and peer groups, from investigation through reentry.
What they do
Second Chance Services pairs justice-impacted people with mentors and walks them through five kinds of practical help: mentorship, referrals to trauma-informed therapists (SCS pays for the sessions but is not a clinic), financial coaching on banking, credit and debt, employment coaching including resume and interview work, and peer support groups that meet weekly or biweekly. It takes people at any stage, from the day an investigation begins through pre-trial, sentencing, incarceration planning and the first year home, and says plainly that first-time and white-collar defendants are a focus. Every service is free to participants. Programs run virtual-first, with occasional in-person cohorts. Founded by Adam Levin after his own federal plea agreement; donations are processed through a 501(c)(3) fiscal sponsor rather than SCS holding its own exemption.
