PRIVACY POLICY.
What this site collects, and what happens to it
Effective 2026-09-11. Applies to justiceimpact.com and the email we send from it.
This is written to be read, not skimmed past. It describes what actually happens today. When the site starts doing something new with your information, this page changes on the same day.
1. What we collect, and when
You can read every page on this site without giving us anything. We only receive personal information when you type it into one of two forms and press send.
The email sign-up form
Appears on the homepage and the contact page. It sends us: your name, your email address, which form on the site you used.
The founding host application
Appears on the founding hosts page and the contact page. It sends us: your name, your firm or organization, your city, your email address, your phone number, anything you write in the notes box.
Email you send us
If you write to hello@justiceimpact.com, we receive whatever you put in the message, and your email address.
Ordinary web server records
Like every website, ours is served by a host that records the IP address, browser type, page requested, and time of each request in order to deliver the page and defend against abuse. We do not add anything to that. See third parties for who the host is.
A hidden anti-spam field
Each form includes a field that people never see and bots fill in. If it arrives filled, the submission is discarded and nothing is stored. It collects nothing from a person.
2. Where it goes
When you submit a form, our server sends the fields listed above to the customer relationship platform we use, HighLevel. That is the system of record for everyone who has contacted us. It is where your record lives, where email is sent from, and where an unsubscribe is honored.
No personal information is stored on this website itself, in its source code, or in the organization directory. The directory holds information about organizations, not about the people who visit or who own listings.
3. What we do with it
- Email sign-up. We send you email about Justice Impact: new episodes, new stories, new directory listings, and what is being built. Not on a fixed schedule, and not daily.
- Founding host application. We use what you send to decide whether to book a conversation with you and, if we do, to have it. Your phone number is for that call.
- Email to us. We use it to answer you.
We do not sell personal information. We do not rent, trade, or share it with anyone for their own marketing. We do not build advertising profiles. The only parties that see it are the service providers listed in section 5, and only to do the job described there.
5. Third parties that receive data
This is the complete list as of the effective date. Each entry links to that company's own policy.
- HighLevel
- Customer relationship platform. Every form submission on this site is delivered here, and it sends our email. It also hosts the guest booking calendar embedded at the bottom of the show page, served from our own links.justiceimpact.com subdomain: loading that frame sends your IP address to HighLevel and sets a bot-protection cookie on that subdomain, and anything you type into the calendar goes to them, not through this site. Their privacy policy.
- Cloudflare
- Hosts and serves the site. Sees the IP address and request details of every visit, as any host does. Their privacy policy.
- Google Fonts
- Serves the typefaces. Your browser requests them from Google, which receives your IP address. Their privacy policy.
- Transistor
- Hosts the podcast and the audio player embedded on pages that include it. Loading the player sends your IP address to Transistor. Their privacy policy.
Links to other sites, including every organization in the directory and the podcast on Apple Podcasts, take you off this site. Their policies apply there, not this one.
6. How long we keep it
A form submission stays in our customer relationship platform until you ask us to delete it, or until we clear out contacts we have no reason to keep. Unsubscribing from email keeps a record that you unsubscribed, so we do not email you again by mistake. Email you send us is kept the way ordinary business email is kept.
7. Your choices and rights
These apply to everyone, wherever you live. You do not need to cite a law to use them.
- Unsubscribe. Use the link at the bottom of any email we send, or write to us. It takes effect for every future send.
- See what we have. Ask, and we will tell you what we hold about you.
- Correct it. Tell us what is wrong and we will fix it.
- Delete it. Ask, and we will delete your record from our platform, keeping only what is needed to honor an unsubscribe or meet a legal obligation.
Send any of these to hello@justiceimpact.com. We will act on them and tell you when it is done. We will not treat you differently for asking.
If you are in California, the rights above cover what the California Consumer Privacy Act calls the right to know, to correct, to delete, and to opt out of sale or sharing. We do not sell or share personal information as that law defines it, so there is nothing to opt out of.
8. People and organizations we write about
The directory describes organizations in our own words, drawn from what they publish on their own websites. It names people only in the public roles an organization itself presents, such as a founder or executive director, and never includes anyone's contact details.
The magazine publishes reporting and interviews. A person quoted or profiled in a story was either interviewed for it or is described from the public record.
If you are named on this site and believe something is wrong, or want a listing corrected or removed, write to hello@justiceimpact.com.
9. Children
This site is written for adults and is not directed at anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has sent us information, tell us and we will delete it.
10. Security
Every page and every form submission travels over an encrypted connection. Form data is handed to our platform from our server, not from your browser, so the delivery address is never exposed on the page. Access to the platform that holds your record is limited to the people who run Justice Impact. No system is perfectly secure, and we do not claim ours is.
11. Changes to this policy
When this policy changes in substance, we update the effective date at the top and, if you are on our email list and the change affects you, we say so in the next email. We do not change what we do with information already collected without telling you first.
